I watched this film today and thought it was just remarkable. The ending had some problems admittedly, and felt rather rushed compared to the rest of the film, but beyond that, what an experience!
Agreed - I saw it on a big screen and it was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Transportive, intense, poetic, terrifying; its easily Refn's best work, and I really like his earlier stuff.
I've rewatched it since and its a fascinating film, a masterpiece of sorts, I think.
